Re: [Marxism] Slight tinge of conscience in warmongering blogs
Why do these disgust me so?
I think when I read these comments of the Porter's speech from Macbeth:
"Who's there in the devil's name? Faith, here's an equivocator that could swear
in both the scales against either scale, who committed treason enough for God's
sake yet could not equivocate to heaven. O, come in equivacator."
What angers me I suspect is that they now have "doubts". Yet there is nothing
that happened in Iraq which did not happen in Korea or Vietnam. When they
supported the invasion of Iraq, they knew what would happen. Now they pretend
they did not.
What has tipped the scales for them is not the horrifying death count, rather
it is the division within the camp of their masters. When the head of the
British Army comes out and says we are making things worse by staying in Iraq
and we ought to get out, then the cheerleaders who have been gyrating around
the slaughterbench of history suddenly begin to equivocate.
regards
Gary
