Lorna Salzman is quoted as writing, " The values of the American Revolution
are in mortal danger of being overturned not by foreign enemies but from
within our own country, as the American liberals and left, deploring the
Patriot Act, do their utmost to undermine everything that is most admirable
about our country. Indeed, this is the new definition of Treason."
James Madison wrote, "Perhaps it is a universal truth that the loss of
liberty at home is to be charged against provisions against danger, real or
pretended from abroad."
Could it be remotely possible that James Madison knew a little bit better
what the values of the American Revolution were? Of course! But, what the
hell? Welcome to modern America. Say or write anything that kisses the ass
of power and you're a political thinker...
