[Marxism] Organizing the flexible, post-fordist workforce

Hi everyone,

With the move from an industrial to a post-industrial economy (at
least in the US), the weakening of unions, the great reduction in
length of employment time at a particular firms, and the imperative
that labor be "flexible", willing to move from company to company and
career to career, a question posed itself to me:

How might the workforce be organized in order to account for these new
objective conditions? Is anyone aware of material that addresses this
in terms of theory and praxis? It would seem to me that new forms of
organization that assist the flexible workforce could have a
substantial impact on the overall situation of the working class. Is
such a thing even possible?
