Re: [Marxism] Theory of Dems as consistent deceivers of the U.S. working class is a conspiracy theory

This is not conspiracy, it is ideology. Liberals tend to believe that
their actions are moral and just. They sincerely believe they work to
make the nation a better place.

It is precisely this, which makes them so dangerous, since we know
that in fact, their minor reforms are not able to change the
fundamental nature of capitalism, or improve the lives of workers.

Ideology is indeed, unconscious. It is (to misappropriate Jung) the
"collective unconscious". In order to function, people have to believe
that their worldview is correct, and that they are acting to do the
right thing most of the time, according to their belief system.

Most of the Democrats I know (which is probably most of my social
group), as a matter of fact, believe strongly in conspiracies of the
Bush regime. This doesn't in any way make them open to socialism. They
believe that the problems would be solved, if only we could replace
the bad apples with some more progressive, well-intentioned people.
