- Thread-topic: Major corporate propaganda organ revises history
In ABC's miniseries, "The Path to 9/11," which will air a couple of days
from now, right wing operatives depict Clinton's National Security
Adviser Sandy Berger refusing to authorize an attack on Osama Bin Laden
despite a request from CIA officials. Madeline Albright, Secretary of
State under Clinton, is shown insisting on warning the Pakistani
government before an air strike on Afghanistan. According to the 9-11
Commission Report, and every other account of history of which we are
aware, these events never happened.
The blatant fabrication of history by the same corporate news agency
that played a key role in helping the Bush administration deceive the
public into supporting expansions of both American empire abroad and the
US police state at home demonstrates as clearly as anything can that the
propaganda system masquerading as objective information is in fact in
the service of the right-wing countermovement devolving democracy in the
US Republic. So successful have they been at carrying out the big lie
for the Bush regime that they are now arrogantly revising our common
history.
