I have been leading with my chin on this topic to see what gets thrown at me.

And I've found the debate very interesting in way of the conflicting 
perspectives and the particular spin you can generate in politics. The split is 
certainly regrettable but it's a fact now and there's no way that formally it 
will be healed.

At stake is who stays with which current and how they fare hereon in.

I make no secret of my unconditional support for the SSP and my 
'disappointment' (to put it mildly) in the role played in this exercise  by the 
CWI and the SWP. I think there's a lesson there that warrants being learnt 
internationally by all those who support a regroupment perspective -- because 
thats' what at stake here in way of fallout. Thats' the major blow that the 
French LCR pointed out in its formal appeal to the protagonists that there 
should be no split.

In that sense, the future of  Scottish socialism (and Scottish socialists) is 
very relevant to what we do in our own countries. So I recommend Jim Jepp's 
excellent review of the two competing rallies this last weekend.

Jim is certainly more magnanimous than my own personality would allow -- but 
he's there and we're not -- so I defer to his judgement (and I've learnt to 
value his considerations in the past).

The promised future coverage coming from the SUN comrades of the various POVs I 
think is something to look forward to in way of given this divide more 
substance than it currently has on offer for us.
