HIV was not isolated and understood to be the cause
of AIDS until the early 1980's. Nor was the disease
known to medicine during the lifetime of Che Guevara,
though it is possible (or indeed probable) that isolated
cases had occured in humans in Africa long before the
disease and the virus that cause it were discovered
by medicine in the 80's. Weird allegations indeed.
