Subject: [Marxism] Challenge to Lenin & Trotsky experts

PS.
Another obvious disaster arising from the idea of Marxism as mechanistic
science was stage-ism, the theory that every country had to go through the
same processes as Britain had historically gone through. As a result,
Russian Marxists in 1891 refused to help the dying victims of a politically
instigated famine when there was no alternative employment, on the grounds
that the peasantry had to become industrialised.
Tragedy: as for farce -- in 1978 "Official" Irish Marxists produced a
pamphlet claiming that it was scientifically ascertainable that the historic
task of Irish republicans was to help on the "Irish Industrial Revolution"
by among other things getting Irish come-all-yous and *rural* soap operas
taken off TV (which they infiltrated for the purpose).
Later, Marxist members of the Irish Parliament censured the *national*
television station for not showing the wedding of Charles and Diana live all
day.
As Minister for Communications, Conor Cruise O'Brien, who probably at the
time would have affected to be influenced by Marxism, not only introduced
anti-Republican political censorship, but in the 70s tried over a long
period of debate to have the British channel BBC1 in its entirety made into
the contemplated second national Irish television channel.
