Announcing an Anti-Imperialist conference:

IMPERIALISM AND RESISTANCE TODAY

Date: Friday evening, September 15 and Saturday
afternoon, September 16

Location: Ontario Institute for Studies in Education,
252 Bloor St. West (at St. George subway station)
Room 8200

Cost: Free

As war flares across the Middle East and popular
revolts shake Latin America, the left needs to
understand imperialism in order to better resist it.
This conference of activists and analysts is a
contribution to doing just that. Themes include:
Imperialism, War and Resistance; Patriarchy, War and
Imperialism; Imperialism at Home: Haiti, Afghanistan,
First Nations, and Struggles for Migrant Workers’
Rights.

Rafeef Ziadah (Al Awda Toronto and Coalition Against
Israeli Apartheid)

Huibin Amee Chew (Boston-based anti-imperialist and
feminist activist and writer)

Glen Coulthard (Aboriginal scholar-activist)

Hamid Sodeifi  (Editorial associate, New Socialist
magazine)

Herman Rosenfeld (Socialist Project and Trade
Unionists Against the War)

magazine launch for issue 58 of New Socialist
magazine. All conference-goers are invited to attend.
It will be an ideal time to continue the discussions
of the day in an informal enviroment and socialize
