Along the same lines, one might want to read or reread Philip Roth's  
The Plot Against America. The novel leaves out some details about  
real struggles going on at the time. However, that gap only hits a  
few of us in the know. Its omission probably strengthens the book.

A wonderful addition is the nonfiction material at the end where Roth  
documents in detail the pro-fascist outlook of Lindbergh, Ford, and  
others.

Anne Morrow Lindbergh herself must be included as a fascist  
intellectual, for she supported her husband's views, although she  
became a known "intellectual" for her writings on nature.
