I just love things like this:

"Cuban officials who might be tempted to the side of reform have been given 
more reason to believe Mr. Castro's claims of unremitting American 
hostility."

Ri-i-i-i-ight.  "Unremitting American hostility" isn't reality, it's just 
something that Mr. Castro "claims." Just as one often reads about "claims" 
that the U.S. blockade has hurt the Cuban economy, as if it isn't a 
demonstrable fact.
