I see in that just a modernisation of that monument.
I understand upholding the memory of the crimes of German imperialism
(with the collusion of collaborators in the occupied countries) with the
genocide of the European Jews, not as a means to justify similar crimes
from other parties, but as a warning not to repeat such crimes.
The protest against the war crimes of the colonial settler state
Israel (in the interests of US imperialism) is a honoring and a
continuation of this effort, not its "desecration".
