I think I met this person while I was in Mississippi and I have no idea why she 
wrote this crappy and demoralizing article, except that the press loves to 
focus on Nazis and rightwingers because I think they see them as just nuts.

The truth:

The anti abortion goons were outnumbered at least 3/1 by our side, a multi 
racial, multigenerational group from all over the country and belgium and 
france.

Radical Women mobilized our friends in the Muslim community to protest the 
burning of the Koran, and helped organize a press conference that included 
Muslims, queers, feminists, church people and immigrant rights supporters to 
denounce the OSA creeps. 

Guess what?  We got front page coverage on the local press and top story 
coverage on the local tv news and the pressure was so great that the rightwing 
church that was housing the out of town goons (which was most of them) threw 
them out, claiming they hadn't gotten permission to burn the Koran.

Then, a TV news poll released that 85% percent of viewers wanted OSA to leave 
town.  There were 6% undecided.

Then, OSA left town before we did, and we had a closing rally without their 
obnoxious presence.

Their much ballyhood plans to send another delegation from a group called Oh 
Saratoga--led by Rev Flip Benham--or flip the flop--never materialized, and the 
last I looked, Jackson Mississippi, or the name of Mississippi has been totally 
removed from their website.

Only the left would be promoting and giving new life to these creeps.  Are they 
so sexist and racist that they think mobilization led by Black women--yes, 
local Black women--is nothing.

I am disgusted that left list serves are even publishing this drivel.  It is 
not as though Radical Women didn't distribute what was happening far and wide.
