RE: [Marxism] Lebanon and Palestine: what should we do? [request fordiscussion]

Under this thread, in addition to the more obvious encouragement to people
to organize mass activity and (for people in the US) support the August 12
demonstration in Washington (see www.iacenter.org for more), I would like to
suggest that we might want to raise money for relief for the victims of the
attacks. I note that on top of the fact that we really SHOULD raise money
for the victims of our own imperialists' bombs, approaching people on this
issue makes inherent educational points about the slaughter and who is the
victim and who is the aggressor. Here is something from a veteran Palestine
solidarity activist in Chicago whom I trust on these matters:

Folks have been asking what progressive grassroost projects they can
contribute to in Lebanon. My pick is Samidoun, a coalition which has been
at the forefront of organizing grassroots relief efforts for S. Lebanon.

None of these groups are currently listed ( yet ) on the State Dept. list as
'terrorist' organizations. It is not illegal to contribute material aid to
this Coalition.
