Re: [Marxism] Greg Nowell on the electric car

A neighbor of mine -- about 8 blocks away before he died -- was instrumental in killing the electric car. He was a liberal activist school teacher, who became appalled by student activism during the 60s, moved to the right, became a county supervisor, then assemblyman at the state leg.

He almost cut a shady deal to become leader of the assembly. He led the charge to eliminate the zero emissions vehicle in the state, which mean that Detroit did not have to worry about electric cars.

He also promised me that he would let me see material that the state red squad or the FBI had circulated about me after I jointly published a report the blocked a big development deal the the Forest Service. People who saw the material said it was wierd -- I had an alias, M. Mouse -- yes, because it was free to give the phone co. a false name & it cost money to have the phone unlisted.
