We can't just blame Tel Aviv, Washington, Paris, Berlin, etc. for
this. Mahmoud Abbas turned out to be as much of a problem for
Palestinians as Sharon and Olmert. And we didn't do what needed to be
done. Iraq is an outgrowth of Washington's Israeli policy, but US
liberals and leftists, unable to think in a long term, have never
ceased to treat it as the main event, failing to educate the public
about what's really the main event in the Middle East.
