[Marxism] Hugo Blanco on UNT leader/Chavez/Trotsky-Stalin

[A little background...Orlando Chirino is one of the national leaders of the
pro-Revolutionary UNT in Venzuela. His considered 'the' leader even in terms of
the provisional collective leadership by many. He repesents the 'left of the
Chavista movement' inside the UNT, and his current the C-CUR is the largest of
currents inside the union. Recently the UNT's Second Congress broke up after
heated arguements, charges made, and walkouts by the 'rigth-wing' of the
Chavista movement inside the UNT. The issues are far more complicated than
merely 'left' and 'right', obviously, I'm using this simplisticaly.

They recalled the Congress and recently concluded it successfully this last
weekend. The issues at the Congress and the running year long debate in the UNT
involve the following:
1. How to build for the 10 million votes for Chavez for the election
2. Should the UNT be a union of workers at the point of production or also
include those that are not working for bosses?
3. What is workers self-management and wokers control, how should it be
implemented.
4. Should the UNT elect it's leadership (it has been provisional only for 2
years) now or wait until after the Presidential elections.

It is the best in terms of breadth of coverage. There are continental
implications in how the UNT is going to continue and what and whom it will
represent. Thus, Blanco, a Peruvian, comments--David Walters]
