Iran Calls Ties with China Strategic

Tehran, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadineyad
called strategic bilateral relations with China and will do all in
its power to boost them.

At a meeting with Chinese businessmen at the Europe-Asia Summit in
Shanghai, Ahmadineyad noted that Tehran and Beijing share views on
the most relevant world events: We commit with peace and security and
oppose bullying and discrimination.

In this way the Iranian statesman lashed at the US rejection of
Iran's Nuclear program which he recalled is for peaceful ends and
abides by international regulations.

Bilateral China-Iran trade in 2005 totaled 10 billion dollars, said
Ahmadineyad who encouraged national businessmen to exploit the
potentials.

For his part, Chinese President Hu Jintao defended Iran's right to
develop N-energy for peaceful ends and called to settle the crisis
through negotiations.

He added that China will keep its constructive and friendly contact
with Iran that will adopt the right decision in its best interests,
said Irna news agency.

Iran's military policy rules out N-weapons so China is willing to
keep up fair negotiations, based on equality and studies the Security
Council Members' proposal, said Ahmadineyad.
