[Marxism] DC Grand Jury rejects racist anti-McKinney witch hunt

A Washington D.C. Grand Jury has exonerated  U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, who
represents Georgia's Fourth Congressional District, despite an unbridled
campaign of lies and abuse in the pig press against her and pressure on the
Grand Jury to indict her from white U.S. attorney Kenneth Wainstein.

The frame-up stems from an assault on McKinney by white capitol hill police
officer Paul McKenna, who laid hands on her trying to prevent her from
entering a Congressional venue.

Congresswoman McKinney righteously defended herself by slugging McKenna but
good, who immediately filed a complaint with his higher ups.

Now McKenna had no authority over McKinney, that is undisputed. His job was
to know every single member of Congress and allow them unfettered access to
Congressional buildings, while performing security checks on members of the
public and others trying to enter. 

Moreover, McKinney isn't exactly the least known member of the House. Quite
the contrary. She is aggressive and outspoken and controversial. The claim
that he didn't recognize McKinney doesn't stand the giggle test, but even if
it is true, it is no excuse. Would he have accosted some well-turned-out
silver-haired white man in a suit under similar circumstances? 

So you would have thought that a glorified rent-a-pig who'd put his foot in
a bucketful of manure by trying to detain a member of Congress wouldn't have
been filing a *complaint* a couple of minutes later, but making profuse
apologies about his failure to recognize the Congresswoman. 

But the truth is that this has all the marks of a conscious, planned
provocation by the white officer against a Black woman who also happens to
be the most outspokenly radical member of the national legislature. 

Four years ago all the powers that be ganged up against her, including from
her "own" party, and with massive white crossover voting from Republicans in
northern DeKalb County, managed to remove Congresswoman McKinney from her
seat. 

But the outrage in the Black community was so great that the Black woman ex
judge that the zionist lobby, the Democrat machine and other moneyed
interests had put in place of McKinney decided she had no hope of beating
Cynthia in a rematch, and ran for some other office.

Now in the pig press the facts about this case have been covered up, even
though they're clear as Black and white. That McKenna IS white, for example,
is never mentioned. That the U.S. attorney who seems to have nothing better
to do than press the grand jury to indict a sitting member of Congress over
an altercation with an officer that must have lasted all of 15 seconds,
where she was in the right and he was in the wrong anyways, that he is also
white goes unmentioned. And thus it is no surprise that we have no
description of the composition of the Grand Jury. 

But what we know is that Washington, D.C. is an overwhelmingly Black city.
Blacks outnumber Anglos two-to-one. And Black folks know by instinct what
this is about, white men in supposed authority laying hands on Black women.
And there's just no way a mostly-Black Gran Jury was going to indict
Cynthia, not for defending the dignity of her office, her people, and her
gender. No way.

And the reaction in Cynthia's District, where I happen to live, has been
interesting. The main Anglo daily has tried to whip up sentiment against
her, and some of the TV stations too, and they have fallen flat on their
faces. Blacks and Latinos --but especially women-- are GLAD Cynthia slugged
him, it doesn't in the slightest lower her standing in their eyes, quite the
contrary. And that she got away with it is going to raise her standing even
more.

It is quite an interesting exercise to Google McKinney and McKenna. You'll
find, for example, stories in the web sites of obscure publications that
cite Black sources inside the capitol police saying it was a conscious,
staged provocation targeting McKinney specifically. Every last reporter
working for a major outlet on this story has seen those stories and those
quotes, and not a single major media outlet that I'm aware of pursued it. 

The story is dynamite because, of course, the capitol police do not work in
a vacuum. They answer to the leadership of the House and the Senate. If this
was a conscious provocation, as circumstances and testimony from inside the
force suggest, it came from above.
