[Marxism] David Corn on Zarqawi. A gene-carrying member of the "civilized world" speaks out for assassination and occupation

"It's good news that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead. Any member of the
civilized world ought to cheer the demise of a terrorist who killed
civilians with bombings and beheadings."

This is David Corn's response to the murder of Zarqawi by the murderers
of so many  thousands of Iraqis, Afghans, Palestinians, etc.. I know
that Corn has no fan club on this list, but I just cite it as an example
of the imperialist arrogance and bloody-mindedness in much of the
liberal and even some of the left commentary on this event.

I think the changed situation of currents like Zarqawi and Bin Laden,
despite their reactionary politics and brutal actions, is something that
needs to be taken into account.  I don't support any US aggression in
Iraq or the Muslim world, including the attack on Zarqawi's safe house.
It is aimed entirely against the resistance of  wide layers of many
classes and strata to the US assault on the peoples of the region -- the
so-called war against terror.
