[Marxism] ARTICLES: Egregious US spin on Guantanamo suicides

"The deaths, the first at the prison since the United States began
holding terrorism suspects there in 2002, were described as a publicity
stunt by a senior U.S. official. *Colleen Graffy*, U.S. deputy assistant
secretary of state for public diplomacy, told the BBC World Service the
suicides were a "*good PR move* to draw attention."

"Rear Admiral *Harry Harris*, the camp's commander, described the
suicides as an act of warfare."They are smart, they are creative, they
are committed," he said of the prisoners. "They have no regard to life,
neither ours nor their own. And I believe this was not an act of
desperation, rather *an act of asymmetric warfare* waged against us."
