Bachelet, like Manmohan Singh and the Indian Congress Party, will
politely bend over and allow the U.S. imperialists to anal rape Chile and
India, economically and in foreign policy.
We'll soon hear haughty "concerns" about Venezuela's democracy coming
from Ms. US Sock Puppet. She might even compare Chavez to Pinochet, along
the lines of "I was there during Pinochet, and I see Venezuela going down
the same road", or some other rubbish. She'll shake her empty head at how
Venezuela's economic policies are just too "unrealistic", and how they need
to be more "pragmatic", and support the FTAA like she unconditionally does.
Bachelet is an enforcer of Pinochet's policies. Pinochet didn't wake up
one morning saying "Gee, I'd like to torture and murder thousands of
Chileans just because I'm such a bad guy." Pinochet was installed in order
to prevent the Chilean working classes from making any meaningful economic
gains and to ensure neoliberal capitalism a smooth ride. His raison d'etre
was to make sure that the Chilean masses would starve and undergo horrific
losses of their basic living needs, so that U.S. and it's subordinate
Chilean capital would have a free reign, no matter the cost.
Bachelet functions to ensure that the economic policies of Pinochet
will remain in place forever, except without the need for the expensive
Chilean army, which riled the Chilean masses up too much. She's a Chilean
version of Clinton. People will say "Oh, but she was tortured under
Pinochet and she's a woman, so she must be for us peons!" just as people
said "Oh, but Kerry spoke against the war against the Vietnamese people,
therefore he must have a secret antiwar plan somewhere!", or how Clinton
was a working class kid from Arkansas, (who supported the Contras killing
Nicaraguan working class kids and U.S. military killing Vietnamese,
Yugoslav and Iraqi working class kids). The U.S. left needs to get over
personality politics.
See Bachelet's sleazy position on FTAA: "The difficulty has always been
that Chile has economic reforms in place. Becoming a full member of
Mercosur would mean back stepping on those reforms...What is needed is a
basic FTAA, in which minimum conditions are equivalent for all countries,
and from there on keep advancing. An FTAA of this kind would enable all
countries to join. That?s why we are enthusiastic and push hard for FTAA"

Bachelet makes me want to puke. She and Pinochet can rot in hell.
