[Marxism] Last word on Louis K. (was:"Last word on whoring"

I think Louis or Les should stop this thread right now! I have no idea
what drove Louis K. to lumber into this fight as everyone else was
leaving it, and begin writing and talking about people in an extremely
provocative way. He denounces a woman who exercised her democratic right
to leave the list at any time, while roaring and pounding the bar like a
character in Rhinoceros about his sacred right to carry on endlessly
about "whoring" a propos of nothing in particular.

As though this had nothing at all to do with women -- even though a
number of women on the list seemed to think otherwise, and their
opinions should have some weight.

What Louis K is doing has nothing to do with any discussion that is
actually taking place on the list anymore, and the provocative way he is
throwing around the term "whore" (again, a propos of nothing!) in the
face of the fact that a number of people find it offensive is
indefensibly damaging to this list, not

On Scotlive's departure -- and even Louise's -- these are common events
on the list which usually end with somebody  coming back after they have
cooled off and the smoke has cleared in the discussion.  (Although this
is less true of women, in my experience.)  Generally, I think
continuation of discussions so that people denounce and others have to
defend people who left the list is not helpful to the process of getting
them back.  Scotlive will be back is my bet. I hope that is also true of
Louise.

Steffie, who has been through the political g-wars in Sin City Amerikkka
for many years before joining the list, is a much harder case and will
not be pushed out as long as she sees the list as politically useful.
