  e.g. as NetNews -- thanks for the tip, I started right away to
download headers of all 68970 messages on the list.

  I had already subscribed to two other mailing lists via GMane,
because they had a too high frequency of messages.

  The news server's address is news.gmane.org

  I try to post this message both ways, as NetNews via Gmane, and
directly as mail.
