this reminds me of something else i posted about a couple years ago,
maybe now is a good time to recapitulate: a VERY handy way of searching
our archives is to use google with a 'site: XXX.YYY' tacked on at the end.
for example, i went to the List archives search engine to find my
original gmane post from a couple years ago. it took a long time to get
it to respond. in the meantime i went to google and typed in the following:
gmane schaffer site:archives.econ.utah.edu
and the second listing was the post i was looking for. the response is
very fast, and you have google's Advanced Search capabilities with which
you can tack on any search constraint you want. simply add
archives.econ.utah.edu to the slot that says: Domain, "Only" return
results from the site or domain
