[Marxism] Re: Marx and Engels sectarian views on Permanent Revolution, a

Anthony Boynton: It is always a pleasure reading from you. Thanks for the
comments on Permanent Revolution. I await the next installment. Meanwhile, few
comments on your post:

- Good quotations from Marx's 1850's address. We can also find traces of that
position, particularly regarding Germany in the Communist Manifesto.

- Engels will revisit Marx's positions on the same theme in the 1870s and
around the question of the Paris Commune, in fact those ideas are the ones that
made Engels declare the Communist Manifesto outdated and already a "Historical
document" rather than the program it was before the Commune.

- Lenin's April theses is the beginning, not the culmination of Lenin's
approach to the question. But the April theses are strikingly "Trotskyists"
even if also contains a kind of apology for having had complicated, I think he
saqid geometrical instead of aritmethical political formulas.

- Wondering how these guys (Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky...) would have written
about Lula, Kirchner, Morales, Chavez... of course, this is just a rethorical
wondering.

On another issue: tell us something aobut the left after the recent elections
and something about the so called "left" that came out second, right after
Uribe, but kind of 35% behind. Also, what was the level of abstention... sorry
for the diversion, trying to save space...
