I very much like the distinction the CPC originally made (and which
today's self-labelled "Maoists" no longer make) between theory and
thought.

And I would (in that context) rewrite Lenin's sentence as "Without
revolutionary THOUGHT, there will be no revolutionary movement." The
assumption that there is some general theory that will act as a concrete
guide to each nation's revolutionary struggle is bad theory, and has
caused a great deal of nonsense and confusion over the last 50 to 80
years.
