Dear Sartesian: I understand, as a Trotskyst, that _any_ bourgeois
revolution is , as a matter of fact, "permanent", in that bourgeois
revolutions, in the act of their inception, are wont to unfold as a
continuum going from abstract demands of formal equality & political
empowerment towards concrete, real ones; that was what alllowed the European
bourgeois revolutions to meld into socialist movements - the very emergence
of Marxism being unthinkable without admmiting the existence of said
continuum.
The reemergence of a Bolivian revolutionary process , for instance, is
unfolding out of a very _bourgeois_ process of economic integration carried
by means of the founding of a coalition of the Southern Cone bourgeoisies in
MERCOSUR, and _that was precisely what allowed Morales to challenge the
unequal nature of the MERCOSUR deal_, therefore taking a step foward in the
process of political empowerment of the Bolivian workers & peasants. If you
deny the revolutionary character of _that_, you will find yourself at the
same side of the barricade as the Brazilian bourgeois media, which is
presently very busy in pillorying Morales (and Lula, as far as he is
depicted in being too "soft" towards Morales) as a "populist" buffoon
ignorant of the realities of globalization...
