Re: [Marxism] Re: moderatoir's note
I think we do certainly need to discuss Latin America. And I do think
the list participants have added something to the understanding of the
situation-- even by and in and of disagreements. I disagree profoundly
with Nestor's analyses, but I look forward to them for what they tell me
about the history of the struggle.
Re the SSB: I say and said nothing when Spanish speaking immigrants
proposed and presented such a thing. I heard it discussed at
demonstrations. I said something on this list, this Marxist, somewhat
internationalist even ecumenical list. I said that something when Mark
tried to locate the SSB in a revolutionary tradition of a revolutionary
era. No such tradition or era applies to the SSB. That's it.
Some postings don't add anything new ... but that, for me, isn't the
issue.. the issue is this immediate and eternal identification,
mis-identification, of any criticism, critical analysis, as being
ultra-left, ultra-left as identical to right wing carping, and being in
opposition to decent, honest, good, wholesome things like mutual aid,
preferential oil prices, free medical care, and motherhood, morros, ropa
vieja, rum anejo, pisco sours, natural daquiris, and oh yeah, the flag,
or flags, or whatever.
Leave the slurs out. There is no "objectively" rightist, subjectively
ultra-left identity. Just leave off with the ideological posing. Can't
we all just answer the questions?
Does anybody out there have anything to say about this Venezuela/Russia
oil deal. Or is it immaterial?
