[Marxism] Wishful Louis Pr. on Canada
Louis Proyect:
"The world would probably be better off if the Crown had suppressed
the revolt of 1776. Compared to the USA, Canada looks positively
benign."
Panglossian dreams, Louis.
One would almost be tempted to coin some motto like "Given
capitalism, then some "USA" is ineluctable".
USA is the acronym for "the largest fully realized capitalist
metropolitan nation which came to hegemonize the global scene under
the conditions of imperialism". If this USA you live in hadn't
existed, then some other country (Canada?) would have taken its
stead.
And just guess what would have been this, with all those Tories
roaming around. The Mounted Guard would have made the Marines look
like playful toddlers.
