The bay's original name is "Bahia de loc cochones", and it was not
"the beach", because there are several beaches in that large bay, but at
Playa Giron, or Giron beach for the non-hispano-parlantes.

That's why the whole affair is known to the Cubans by the name of the
beach, Giron, and not the name of the large bay, of which the landing
place was only one out of several, or many.

Playa Giron is at the western coast of the bay, neat the southern end.
