You're right.  Blame it on my poor English.

But, on the other hand, for millions it has been presented as a fight and they 
believe(d) it to be so. Not without reason.  Sometimes, mayhem is needed to get 
a bourgeois to slip an additional couple of cents in the workers' purse.
