Trust your gut.  Help from state-capitalist Russia (Putin's Russia) 
may prove more reliable and more indicative of a serious anti-
imperialist tendency than help from the Stalinist or Stalinized 
Soviet Union.  The latter had to cover up with standard "socialist" 
or "progressive" parlance the defense of the crude interests of the 
bureaucratic layers of the fSU, thus promising more than what they 
were interested in actually giving.  The former is crudely seeking to 
renew its "Great Power" status.  

I am not saying that I like or dislike Putin's Russia.  This is up to 
Russians to decide (BTW:  if I am not wrong, Putin is quite popular 
in Russia today).  What I am saying is that there is no place in the 
world for new Great Powers, so that Putin's policies run directly 
against global hegemony of that cornerstone of imperialist (that is, 
metropolitan bourgeoisie's) domination on the Third Planet, the US 
bourgeoisie and its overwhelming Global State.
