Note what the "tactic" was!

Either the ISO would be willing to engage in "joint
work, joint election campaigns, and a regrouping of
the left" OR they would "suffer a political blow, and
organisational losses".

What terrible villains the DSP are! They actually
*wanted* to engage in "joint work, joint election
campaigns, and a regrouping of the left" with the ISO,
and saw an opportunity to do so. The fiends!

Of course, if you play sectarian silly buggers, it
will bite you on the backside. So it should! And, yes,
apparently, as Percy suggests, that actually happened
to the ISO to some extent.

Well there ya go.

It just goes to show that you can't trust the DSP...
