Re: Re: [Marxism] Re: Anti-Iran actions on International Women's Day

According to you 10s of thousand of communists and revolutionaries
who were killed by the Islamic regime in Iran have just wasted their
time or rather their life, because they were helping the US. In fact
your statement reminds me of my Islamic torture and interrogator who
kept telling me that I was working for America by opposing the Islamic
regime. It only disgusts me when I hear people like you say nonsense
like that."

I wholly disagree with the conclusions you seem to derive from my
statement. I feel like it is crucial to continue struggling against
all oppressive regimes as part of the struggle against imperialism
under which they arise.I am sorry that the particular pain inflicted
on you by the torturers in Iran seemingly makes you unable or
unwilling to understand the basic strategic point I was making. The
particular moment of struggle against the clerics - as seen in the
streets of Jackson Heights Queens - seems of very limited value when
weighed against what it means in providing ideological cover , here
'at home', to the US empire's war-making against Iran.

I also feel obligated to add that the "I remind you of your Islamic
torturers" line is completely unacceptable except in exposing the
weakness of your position. You failed to deal with my arguments and
know nothing of me or my history. And even if you did (eg. as a start,
I have family who were tortured in Somoza's prison in Managua and
very close friends who equally suffered under the apartheid regime in
S. Africa) this is a starting point for outrage and fury but not a end
point for any argument.

So I am left more in sadness than disgust...
