[Marxism] Three good articles from this weeks New Yorker

My copy of the NYer arrived today. To my surprise, there were 3 rather
interesting articles in this one issue.

Of note:

1. A decent review of ?Death in the Haymarket? by James Green and reviewed by
Caleb Crain. A pretty good rendition of the events 1886 that helped launch the
first May Day.

2. "Political Science", a detailed investigation into the Bush administrations
war on science, written by Michael Specter. [Not online]

3. A non-political but historically interesting article on the current up-scale
drink of choice for people whe seem to be tired of the run-of-the-mill
Mouton-Rothschiled '45 (a huh) which is absinthe (Oscar Wilde's and Ernest
Hemingway's choice of dring, and, suicide it seems, at least in Wilde's case).
