[Marxism] new civil rights photos - published for the first time

The Birmingham News has just released a number of pictures from the
1950s and '60s of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham and the
South.  These pictures have never been published, according to the
paper.  This is some powerful stuff!  (And some are definitely not for
the weak at heart.)

The paper has put this material on line, and is accessible to all.
They also have a couple of videos, including one by John Lewis on the
Freedom Rides, efforts to travel on bus across the South by teams of
black and white volunteers, males and females.

The pictures all have captions, and many people in the photos are
identified.  While most of our younger folks know about Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr., we get to see Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth and get some
idea of the role he played around Birmingham.
