Some of the participants in this debate might find it fun to try to apply
their claims to the above article in today's Science Times, in which an
astrophysicist uses video game technology to illustrate the formulas behind
black holes and wormholes.
The scientist himself started as a mathematician, became an astrophysicist
because he wanted a "connection to the real universe, and is now dependent on
the science and technology of video games to illustrate his field's theories. I
assume, by the way, that the pay and working conditions of many of the
inventors and producers of those games would put them in Cliff's category of
Rude Mechanicks.
P.S. To Rod: you may be right on all your points but I can't tell. I have the
impression that you feel Cliff is such a hopeless cause that you haven't
bothered to correct your grammar, or to concretize some of your philosophical
phrases, and so I can't make heads or tails of any of your posts.
