Some day, when my elbows recover, I'm going to get real nasty about the
trivializing of Austen by Lou. The Austen he is using in this post is
the Austen of the Janeites, not the Austen who created one of the most
towering figures of evil in all of English literature (Mrs. Norris in
_Mansfield Park_, whose destructive powers make a boy scout of Iago),
the Austen . . . . Oh well, I'll get back to this in a couple of months.
