[Marxism] Joseph Weydemeyer; Engels supplied the North cannon through Weydemeyer ?

I'm quite sure that not.

^^^^^
CB; Why are you quite sure ? Do you mean you never thought of the
possibility before ?

Two people (or groups of people) arriving at the same result, based on
knowledge of the task.

^^^^
CB: Maybe. On the other hand, maybe the Union high command considered Marx
and Engels analysis in reaching their decision. Evidently, at first the
Union high command had and opposite plan of surrounding the Confederacy.
Why the change ? It would be pretty difficult for you to be certain that the
Marx Engels article did not influence the decision to change. Germans were
known for developed military knowledge at the time. Here comes this analysis
from
Germans. Why not study it. You might win because of it. It's a practical
thing.

Weydemeyer was a _Major_ General. That' one rank below Grant. That's
respect for German military knowledge.

^^^^

During the German-French war of 1870/71, Engels wrote a correspondence
for the London daily "Pall Mall Gazette" where he did the same:
predicting what the next move of the Prussian army would be.

> Also, didn't Marx and Engels write directly to Lincoln ?

No, but Marx got the General Council of the International Workingmen's
Association (is that the english name?) to issue an address to Lincoln,
congratulating for his reelection. Marx, of course, had written the
document (end of November 1864).

^^^^^^
CB: Correct. And the Marx-Engels archivists list that address as written _by
Marx_. Certainly we know Marx did a lot of the writing of International
documents.

^^^^^

In May 1865 the General Council also sent an address to US-president
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln after his murder.

^^^
CB: Also listed as written by Marx by the archivists.

And another just congratualating the American people on something

^^^^^^^

As Nestor Gorojevsky already noted, these are documents worth while to
study in light of our recent discussion about Evo Morales' election to
the president of Bolivia.

Yours,
