I remember having read a letter by Engels to a Marx' daughter, in which he
tells her not to say untrue a "slander" that Marx had a son with his
domestic employee. He said in this letter that, however painful, truth must
prevail - Marx de facto had this son out of marriage.
I also read, in another piece, that the only Marx' descendant, through this
"illegitimate" son, was living in the 1970s in East Germany as a factory
worker.
Every great man has failures - Lenin, his wife and his lover lived a time
under the same roof.
