Just on nationalization. It is my understanding that all is not quite so peachy
in Bolivia...there is not unanimity on this. The calls for nationalization last
summer, whether those "on the international left" like it or not, were not
necessarily the same as what Morales is going to do. The head of the COB (or
maybe it was the COR) had agreed to head the Labor Ministry before Morales trip
to Madrid. When he announed that he was not going to touch foreign held property
(which in large part the whole point of the rebellion), this person stepped
down, saying it WAS a violation of what the people of Bolivia had demanded over
the last few years (which was a very radical, *expropriation* proposal) and what
Morales promised during his campaign. When I find the links for this, I will
post them here.
I think to have a full flavor of this issue we need to track down *Bolivian*
sources, find out more on their discussions...
