1) George Galloway is and has always been a maverick.

2) George Galloway likes publicity

        So the chance of going on Celebrity Big Brother was
probably to him like the rat up the proverbial drain pipe. CBB is
not a new show so everyone knows what is expected of you.

Fact of life: He is on the TV and all the papers and people are
talking about him so, from his point of view, it couldn't be
better. Here truly "No publicity is bad publicity".

        As for the Respect project: everyone, who wants to know,
knows it is a creature of Galloway (who is not standing again for
Bethnal Green) and the SWP. It is an alliance that is still as
narrow as the day it was born and with no more members than then
either. So it's just a matter of time...

        As for MPs being absent from the House on other business,
well they have to be careful about that as Galloway is by no
means the worst offender and in fact that is how it is supposed
to be. Only donkeys like Dennis Skinner seem to think you have to
be there bell-to-bell everyday like it was some factory or
something.
