[Marxism] Red Jackman in Bolivia

Louis, a great yarn, really. My only reaction "Only in Bolivia!".

Here is another related Bolivia story I heard, albeit never documented:

At some point before Nakita Kruschev's outer in 1964 or so, and after the
Bolivians had nationalized the tin mines, he paid a visit to Bolivia. He
visited the famous "seiglo XX" mine or whatever it was called, the most
militant mine in Bolvia. Kruschev promisted to buy Bolvian tin ore for Russian
industry. The miners, naturally, lead by the POR, distributed red flags and
little "4" patches in red for the miners to put on their helmets, the "4" for
"Fourth International". Everyone in Bolivia, at least, knew what that was. For
the POR, this was going to be a grand international confrontation between
proletarian Trotskyism and bureaucratic Stalinism.

Kruschev came to the mines and the miners were there chanting "¡El quartro!¡el
quartro! We want a smelter!". The smelter was the next step in adding value to
Bolvia's most famous (then) natural resource. Kruschev looked rather perplexed
and wanted it explained that maybe the "Russians could help in one smelter, but
certainly not four!."
