[Marxism] Chicago and CITGO (was Lenin, Trotsky and Permanent Revolution (was Bo livia Discussion))

I'm really glad to see PR being discussed. But rather than continue
the theoretical discussion based on texts (which is valuable but I
have nothing new to add yet), I wanted to raise again the question
of Venezuelan oil and the US as an example.
At kclabor.org/news.htm is a link to another story about how the CTA
(the transit authority, not the band) rejected Venezuela's offer, this
time with more lying details. As I mentioned before this poses the
concrete political question of how to pressure the CTA and other
city agencies around the country to accept the offer, but more
importantly to put pressure on US oil and gas companies. Now here's
the relevance to PR. 
Because of the combined nature of the democratic (including anti-
imperialist) and socialist tasks of the Venezuelan revolution, among
many other factors, they have gone farther down the road to socialism
than any advanced country yet has. That's not new, we've seen the
pattern since Russia. What IS new is the unique interpenetration of
the two economies in the form of CITGO. Up until now revolutions
in backward (economically) countries were held up as examples
for the most advanced, reversing Marx's prediction (except for the
Russian commune example). But now the example has concrete
manifestations INSIDE the imperial heartland!
So maybe there's a supplement to the theory waiting to be
formulated... In the meantime let's get those pickets going at
Exxon/Mobil, Entergy, ConEd, etc. headquarters!!!
