RE: [Marxism] Re: Weather Underground - I knew those comrades and itwas not "funny"

John Obrien is right, of course, that everybody makes mistakes and the
deaths of comrades is no joking matter--any more than are the innocent
parties caught in an unnecessary crossfire.

My problem with these groups isn't their mistaken politics but their
stinking arrogance. They made no new mistakes and we're guilty of no
short sightedness that has not failed the Left again and again and
again.

Every one of them was guilty of the most sublime arrogance in one way or
the other. The more ignorant among them lacked the humility to crack a
book or discuss alternatives with experienced people. And the less
ignorant among them recognized that what they were doing had failed
abysmally in the past but believed it would succeed in the present
because THEY were doing it and THEY were so different and beloved of the
gods...like the Bush clan, the Clintons and the masters that lumbers
into places like southeast Asia or the Balkans or the Mideast in
blissful pig ignorance or prayerful self-worship.

History is a merciless judge of performance and doesn't really care
about intentions.

Solidarity!
