Let's see if I've got this straight. I find Jim C's
arrogant tone  somewhat tiresome, which means I am
probably a "House Marxian," and, somehow, even though
this means I am an elbow-patched, tenured careerist, I
am in many ways equivalent to a violent Weather
Underground radical. Hmm.

Response Jim C: How about I find Jim's tone to be
arrogant and tiresome (your opinion) as opposed to
I find Jim's arrogant tone (summarily asserting as
established fact that my tone is arrogant)?

And yes, there are indeed parallels between
"elbow-patched" and tenured academic careerists
(using victims and causes for their own
Self-promotion and market niches) and the Weather
Underground. In both cases, the issue of WHAT is to be Done
Or more specifically, what THEY are prepared to do,
Is what THEY are personally interested in, what THEY
Get personal gratification from, what THEY think
Are causes worth advancing and engaging in tactics that
THEY prefer. In both cases, victims are but objects 
Or means for THEIR own gratification and self-promotion.
