Re: [Marxism] MAS 10-point plan for Morales presidency

The attitude of this message seems to be to search for any of the
tiniest pecadillos to provide an excuse for completely turning one's back
to a struggling nation and mov't. This statement about "a faithful U.S.
ally" requires selective memory of the highest caliber. The author ignores
the 45+ years of naked aggression, genocidal embargo, etc.
Simply flooding the streets with cocaine and heroin are not
progressive acts. These statements forget that many of the most repressive
forces have been very liberal when it comes to the drug trade. The contra
death squads were massive supporters of the drug trade, as well as the
Colombian military. In southeast Asia, the CIA-created contra forces in
Laos under Vang Pao were notorious for their heroin smuggling, as well as
the US backed Corsican mafia in France. Remember the Cocaine Import Agency.
The British Opium Wars in China were about completely liberalizing the
opium import into China, causing widespread societal problems(a Chinese
friend of mine whose family had been in the CCP told me about how her
great-grandparents had suffered from opium addiction).
In contrast the FARC does put regulations and taxes on the coca
trade, which may or may not actually be used for cocaine. As well, the coca
growers in Bolivia most likely produce for non-cocaine uses, as chewing
coca leaves in Andean regions is an old cultural practice.
