The version I heard was that Nader declined to declare his a socialist
campaign, which is a much the same, if such a self-description is the
cornerstone of the PFP program, but I don't doubt your description of
events at all.

On the basis of this position, though, the PFP should endorse Todd, who
is an open socialist....
