Actually, for the past 30 years, the Peace and Freedom Party, basically has BEEN
California's "Socialist Party" and has been far more consistent in running
candidates against the Democrats, at all levels, than the SP has since...whan?
1956?

The Green Party in this state actually owes a lot to the P & F for providing a
lot of support for their ballot fight, something P & F completely supported,
and did so unconditionally.

Nader went to the State Central Committee meeting of the P & F (I wasn't there
since I'm not active in the P & F)  seeking P & Fs ballot line since it's on
the ballot and the Greens were, well, you know....being good liberals and
running it's ABB campaign.

I was told he was asked the question: do you support the P & F program. Naders
response was "no". End of discussion I suspect.

Todd Cretian was the one who brought Nader to the meeting (despite differences
with the ISO I have a lot of respect of Todd and the stuff he's been working on
locally) as the No. California Campaign person for Nader/Camejo.

That Todd IS a socialist should add more interesting spice to the mix inside the
GP this year. I'm hoping Todd (who I think is a list subscriber) and other
California GP members who may be on the list can give their thoughts on how
this will shape up given the strength of the "Demo-Greens" inside the state GP.
